Join as an Artist
Initially Shop was built around a simple idea: art made by people with disabilities deserves a serious platform. If that describes your work, we want to hear from you.
We partner with artists who identify as having a disability — physical, cognitive, neurological, sensory, or otherwise. There's no minimum level of professional experience required. We care about the work itself and the person behind it.
What a partnership looks like
Your artwork is reproduced as limited-edition prints and sold on our store. You set the edition size — we handle printing, fulfillment, and customer service.
You receive a royalty on every sale, paid on a regular schedule. You retain copyright to your original work at all times.
We work with you on how your artist page and bio reads — nothing goes live without your approval.
We don't curate based on diagnosis, and we don't ask you to frame your work as "disability art." Your work stands on its own.
How to apply
Fill out the application
Complete our New Artist Application with a brief introduction — who you are and your practice.
Share your work
Include links to your work or a small portfolio — images, a website, Instagram, whatever you have on hand.
We review personally
We review every submission personally. If it's a good fit, we'll follow up to discuss terms. If it's not the right moment, we'll tell you why and leave the door open.
Accessibility of this process
If the application process itself is a barrier — if you need a different format, more time, or a phone or video call instead — just say so. We will accommodate.
Ready to share your work?
Fill out the New Artist Application and tell us about your practice — we read every submission ourselves.
